Love this family owned restaurant. Original rating 8 months ago was for the original owners who sold the business due to family related issues. The new owners went through growing pains, but they are gradually building their menu. The food has improved by leaps and bounds since they first reopened the restaurant and the family atmosphere is back. We love this restaurant.

March 30, 2019: Having eaten at Koreana for more than 30 years, it remains one of the best, most-delicious, and most-healthy meals you can find in Southside Virginia. If you love chain food or require chicken tenders in honey, go elsewhere - tempura sweet potato slices are as sweet as it gets. Go here if you are OPEN to something totally different. ("I have no idea what this is, but it's YUMMY!")

New owners opened last week. Had lunch buffet. No seaweed soup. No egg drop. Only had spicy chicken. no sushi. Ordered hot tea. came in a water glass. I've never seen that no pot of tea with tea cup.Got cold fast. They did take tea off of my bill. Kim Chi not the same. Price went up to $11.95 + drink. I started going when they were a take out in Walnut Mall.Over 30 years ago I want to give it one more try but need to find out if hot tea is still served in a water glass.Phone busy (off hook ) for last hour. New owners not Kin of old owners. Not the same cook. What a shame.

Very friendly staff. 1st time eating Korean but was very good & chef adjusted spicy level to taste. I want to try their lunch buffet next as I will be back. UPDATE: My fellow Warrant Officer brotheren tried the buffet Friday & were very disappointed to the fact that they got up and left because food on buffet was so bad and even cold. Hostess didn't charge them but told them to just leave. I'm feel so bad about telling them about my 1st experiment & recommending it.

I went to the restaurant based of the 4 star rating which was based off of 112 reviews . The food was horrible no flavor at all and the menu was slim. The sides they bring to the table was nothing like I’ve had at other Korean restaurants before. Upon leaving we found out the restaurant had only been open for 5 days. How they got a 4 star rating with 112 reviews in 5 days, the world may never know! Save your money!! Also they don’t have soju as they are advertising in the restaurant or in the picture.
